ICSE Curriculum

At The Scholar High School, we prepare students to appear for the the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education Examination conducted by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations – Delhi.

The I.C.S.E. is designed to provide an examination in a course of general education through the medium of English, without any diversification of studies, in accordance with the recommendations of the Kothari Commission. Candidates for the examination will be required to have completed satisfactorily, courses in a third language (Marathi), Art and Craft, Socially Useful Productive Work (S.U.P.W.), Physical Education and Education in Moral Values. These are assessed internally by the School.

Candidates appearing for the ICSE are required to offer compulsorily the following subjects:

Group I (Compulsory)

    1. English
    2. Second Language
    3. History Civics and Geography

Group II (Any two of the following subjects)

    1. Mathematics
    2. Science (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) OR
    3. Commercial Studies

Group III (Any one of the following subjects)

    1. Commercial Applications
    2. Computer Applications
    3. Physical Education

The Subjects from Group III cannot be taken along with Corresponding Subjects in Group II of the curriculum. It is expected that candidates will normally offer both Science and Mathematics from Group II. If they choose to take any other combination of subjects, it is the complete responsibility of the parent concerned, of any subsequent implications in the future.
